In the fall of 1990, Charles, single at the time, and in junior college had an idea which then ignited a dream that then stuck in his head for the weeks and years to come. He then began writing the book on and off for the next 20 years. This book would be known as Don't Let Me Die: The Heiler Chronicles.
In 1995, he received his degree in multimedia from San Jose State. Also during his time at San Jose State he produced an educational CD-ROM for "The Oakland Zoo," which took the viewer on a virtual tour of zoo. Also at the same time Charles worked as in intern for the prestigious firm "CKS" in Cupertino, CA; where he worked on in-store demos and sales CD-ROM's for such clients as Apple, HP, and Compaq. After working for just 6 months at CKS as a intern, he was hired on permanently. From the time he was hired (6/95) until the time he left (8/98), he had worked on over half a dozen in-store demos and also over a half dozen sales CD-ROM's.
In fall of 1998, Charles decided that it was time to go back to school and study both classical and cutting edge techniques of animation - a field that has fascinated him since he was a teenager. He spent two years at Cogswell College and learned 2D animation, 3D animation and special effects. While at Cogswell College, he worked on a freelance job for Color Vu where he produced an exceptional sales CD-ROM that won " a honor of distinction." in The Communicator Award (2000).
In May of 2000, Charles was contracted to work on a sales CD-ROM for "Zapme!" in San Ramon. While at Zapme!, he also worked on 3D animation for one of their sales videos.
In March of 2003, he found the Lord and became a disciple.
In May of 2005, Charles began to work for a nearby school district as a computer media specialist. This opportunity allowed him to gain more insight into how teenagers and kids act at school to help write some of the chapters in Don't Let Me Die - The Helier Chronicles.
By the beginning of 2010, Charles had completed only six of the twelve chapters of Don't Let Me Die - The Heiler Chronicles. Charles then by April 2010 got encouragement from his family and a very good friend of his from church to finish the book. By December 2010, Charles had completed the 1st draft of the book. After the 1st draft was completed he hired his good friend John Moniz as an editor and then went on with many revisions.
On September 15, 2012, Charles had completed and published Don't Let Me Die - The Helier Chronicles.
Currently Charles is working on Book 2 of The Heiler Chronicles , working on 360 photography and studying web development.
